1. Only in New York? Get this… A woman on the subway tonight who was painting this eyeball ping pong ball saw I was fascinated by it, and she said, “Here. It’s yours.” Surprised, I responded, “Really?” She said, “Yes, of course,” handing it to me. “What is it?” I asked, curious the story behind this mysterious artwork and starting to turn it around. “I make magnets out of them,” she said, pulling out a plastic bag of dozens more. The most curious thing is I took a closer look, this had text written all around it. But it’s not the easiest to decipher, written in some kind of crooked cursive. I’ve found phrases though like “Always believe in angels.” and “Go forward into something else.” This feels like the DaVinci Code. There are literally words all around. So fascinating!

  3. Had the most wonderful conversation with a stranger on the subway coming home tonight… and I initiated it!!! So glad I did because a year ago I probably wouldn’t have… This person just seemed so stressed and I said, “Excuse me, sorry to bother you, but you look stressed, is everything OK?”

She responded with a bit of a smile and laugh, “Oh, yes, thank you..Well…honestly..” and started telling me about these things going on in her life causing her stress.. and we chatted for a while. At the end I said “Just wanted to make sure you were OK.” She looked at me and said, “Thank you.” So glad I did this. Just felt so good to help someone out, sometimes all we need/want is someone to talk to.

WOW: Hudson River sunset this evening. I took this picture from the cafe car of an Amtrak train, bound from Buffalo to NYC.

  9. SCENIC PENNSYLVANIA: Returning to NYC (via Amtrak) from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where I saw my sister play in the AMCC Women’s Tennis Tournament this weekend.  She lost in the championship for first singles and the championship for doubles, soo proud of her and all the success!

  11. Manhattan skyline. Arriving back in New York tonight by Greyhound after spending the weekend in Binghamton to visit my parents. My mom had a class reunion there. We had a great time, went bowling (mom had high game with a 175!), did Phil’s Chicken House, and had spiedies of course.

  13. Life is a train of moods like a string of beads; and as we pass through them they prove to be many colored lenses, which paint the world their own hue, and each shows us only what lies in its own focus.

  15. Dangerous Combination

Overnight Greyhound Bus from Buffalo to NYC + Free WiFi + iPad + Game 2 Stanley Cup Finals + Twitter = Little sleep the night before returning to work.

It was fun though. First time I ever did an overnight bus and arrived in NYC at 4:30 a.m. Actually pretty comfortable and air-conditioned too. And I had a great Memorial Day!

Pretty tired but will push through the day.
