Spain won its first ever World Cup today, defeating Netherlands 1-0 in extra time (highlights/photos here).
It was a memorable finish, despite a largely boring game, as Paul the Octopus successfully predicted the result. The majestic mollusk went an incredible 8-for-8 in the tournament.
